All, I'm working on details of a venue for meetings for the north Houston PACK annex. I've located a church that will allow free use and I'm working on a night of the week.

I'd like everyone's opinion of the first Monday each month so we don't interfere with other planned events. I'm hoping to mimic PACK's agenda to promote our events, give north Houston residents a way to attend without fighting Houston traffic every month, and hopefully expand our membership.

I am interested in feedback from anyone with suggestions. I expect to have the venue pinned down next week.

I live in Spring just south of The Woodlands, so I'm interested and happy that your looking in to starting an annex in north Houston. That drive into Houston is tough. Monday night wouldn't be great for me, but doable. I work on Monday night, but could rearrange that schedule at times. Thanks for getting this started.

For the record, PACK does not have a Northern Annex. I talked with Ron and if the meeting is "PACK Affiliated" we would have to do changes to the bylaws and get approvals for a special meeting. We did not want to pursue that so this meeting is not a PACK meeting but you can sure discuss what PACK is doing.

We really would like you "Northern Guys" to come to the monthly meeting and hope to see you soon.

Brad is right, we are not forming a new PACK group. However, for those folks who can't attend or wont make the drive into town we can still talk PACK and promote the PACk events and being a member of PACK. PACK has never required meeting attendance as a part of membership! But, we have great speakers, great social interaction, and great event reviews and planning.
There is a large group of folks who live in north Houston who have not come to PACK meetings and I hope to introduce the benefits of PACK to those folks as well as just get together with fellow kayakers, fly fishers, fly tiers, fresh and salt water fishers, one more time each month.
I,m pretty sure that some of the north side folks will realize how much PACK has to offer and will join the group and attend outings.

It is not necessary to join PACK to come to either meeting, we just want to meet new folks to fish with and exchange knowledge.

Best news is, if you can't make the north side get togethers, you can get the full story at the PACK meetings the third Tuesday each month, but we won't be doing speakers and organizing trips to interfere with PACK.

Hey Oleyakker,
As you know most of my posts are on TKF. I thought I take a look at the PACK forum. Glad you got the message out about the N. Houston meeting. Glad to hear that the focus of our meetings will be to enhance PACK membership rather than to be in competition with PACK. Looking forward to our meeting on the 15th.
Time for another Saturday breakfast, isn't it?
