Capt. Ken Garza of Coastal Paddling Adventures (PACK Tournament Sponsor) and CCA - Galveston Chapter President is looking for volunteers to assist in the Sportsmen Road Restoration Project involving the deployment of artificial Reef Domes to be installed at the end of Sportsmen Road.  This is in coordination with the Galveston Bay Foundation.  This will prevent erosion and will provide habitat for fish.  The date is for this Saturday, June 16 from 8:30-2:00 pm.  Please contact Ken Garza if you can help and let him know you are affiliated with PACK.  If you can't help this weekend, please let Ken know you will be glad to help in the future with this project or others. There will be future work being planned for the West Bay system....let's give back to our environment!  Thanks,

7th Annual - PACK Kayak Angler's Tournament Report

June 9, 2007

 Featuring the "PACK CUP" - Angler of the Year Award

PACK held it's 7th Annual Kayak Anlger Tournament where another successful tournament was well attended this year. There were 50 Kayak Anglers in attendance, in which we welcomed 10 new PACK members from this event.  In total attendance for the BBQ and Awards, we had about 60 people there.  A special thanks goes to our 2007 Sponsors, in which none of this could be made possible with out them and for the fabulous prizes that they donated!  Also, to my Brother-n-Law, David Flores, aka "HobieMan", and his wife and sons; Renee', Nathan, & Evan for helping prepare and serve the BBQ.  It was awesome!!  Next, on to our listing our sponsors and then to our winners at this years "PACK Cup" Tournament....The weather was awesome and everyone had a great time!  Good Idea to switch the tournament from August to June !
