Description:

Trip Initiator: Joel Berry

This will be the 19th or 20th year that we have had a Bolivar trip!

The house rented for this event is "Clamdigger" in Lafitte's Landing at 3325 Prides Way, Crystal Beach, TX. Its maximum occupancy is 10 people. There are 7 beds so 3 people will need to bring a cot or air mattress. They do not provide bed linens or towels so bring your own. AND DON'T FORGET YOUR EARPLUGS! SOME of us snore. Due to the sleeping arrangements, only guys can stay at the house, but women are certainly welcome to join us on the water or at dinner. This will be infinitely more comfortable than car camping!

I will be at the house 10/26 Thursday around noon. In the past, most people stay Thursday night as it makes it so much easier to get on the water early on Friday. The cost for the 3 nights is $85. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT TIL THE LAST MINUTE TO SEND YOUR CHECK!

I WILL PROVIDE BREAKFAST ON FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY MORNING. Saturday we will have a group dinner at the Stingeree Restaurant at the marina.  If you bring your own filet, they will cook it for you, along with sides for around $13.  Obviously the house has a nice kitchen so you are welcome to prepare your meal there if you like.

If anyone has an RV and wants to stay at the Bolivar Peninsula RV park, their phone # is 409-877-1828. If anyone wants to rent another house, let me know. From what I've heard, the motels in the area are pretty gross.

AS USUAL, I HAVE CHOSEN A WEEKEND WITH GOOD TIDES, SO AS LONG AS THE WEATHER COOPERATES, WE SHOULD DO VERY WELL! The marsh should be full of reds and flounder this time of year, and many huge big uglies are back there too.

As for the fishing, most of us launch from the Stingeree Marina and fish the nearby marsh, or cross the intercoastal and fish the bay. If the surf is flat, the beach is just a couple blocks from the beach house. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD GOOD LUCK WITH LIVE BAIT IN THE MARSH,  AVAILABLE AT THE MARINA.
