thanks advance Steve btw, im new to the site and i still havent figure out how to insert pics i was trying to put the picture of my yak on here but i dont see a option to do so... : (
Welcome, Steve. My advice is to keep to the basics and keep it simple. To get started all you need is a rod holder, a paddle leash and an anchor. Come on some outings, get a little experience, look at how others rig their yaks and ask questions before you start drilling holes you may regret. The beauty of the kayak is in its simplicity. Have a PFD and wear it!
We have a meeting Tues. night at REI. I, along with others, will be happy to share rigging thoughts with you.

I agree with Barry. Keep it simple at first and add things that you think you need as you spend more time on the water. I only have rod holders and a paddle strap and have been using my kayak for over 10 years that way.
