We have a big group (13) of people signed up for this trip so far and this is going to make finding a good camp location more of a challenge. I will be going down there to scout our known potential camp locations to get a better feeling on how many people they can hold.
Several of us will be bring JetBoil stoves for heating water which is used for the freeze dried backpacking type meals. We do not mind letting anyone borrow them to heat water. All my main meals will be this type of food. Everyone needs to bring 2 gallons of water for meals and drinking. I personally will be bringing 3 gallons and encourage others to do so as well.
Everyone needs to know what the weather will be like for the weekend so go online and check it all week. Everyone also needs to bring some long stakes to secure their tents to prevent the wind from blowing them away.
We will all head out together and we will all head back in together. On the way out you fish along the way or head directly to the camp site. I will get the Lat/Lon coordinates this weekend.
I encourage everyone to bring their GPS recievers and VHF radios for this trip. Check back here for updates. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Remember your cameras. I usually forget mine.
Eli,
At this time I have been unable to get a return call from Everet Johnson. Cat Island is too small for 13 tents. Wind will be such that we need to go and return along the inside East coast of Shoal water. I wonder if their are any decent campsites along that shore near to one of the cuts? Due to threat of high winds, and inclement weather, perhaps we should think of shortening the paddle, .......if possible. What ever the case, I'm going into Seadrift Thursday afternoon. If you need any help, let me know.

I found a good spot this last weekend. There is plenty of room on hard sand. It about 5 miles down. We will figure it out on Friday.
