Trip Description:

This trip is going to be something unique.  As long as tides are not extremely low, we will launch from the back side of Cedar Lakes 5.  This gives access directly from this lake and will make it so that you don't have to launch from the other usual way and go through all lakes to get here.  Also, you will have direct access to Cowtrap Lake across the ICW from Cedar Lakes 5. 

In October, fishing for reds in these marshes can be extremely fun!  If you are looking to sight cast for reds and pick up a few trout along the way, this will definitely be a trip you will want to try.

Depending on how the beach is will determine if you need a 2wd or 4wd vehicle.  When in doubt, ride with someone that has a 4wd vehicle.  There are plenty of members that do have 4wd and don't mind having someone along for the ride.

The preferred baits you will want to use is the same baits you use in any marsh.  If you are new and would like some additional information on this, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.  832-588-7091

soft plastics

top water

shrimp pattern baits

popping corks

rattle traps. etc.

How to Get There:  Once you arrive in Sargent, Texas, head south on Sergeant Joe Parks, Jr. Memorial Hwy.  Eventually, you will arrive at the ICW bridge and this will do a corkscrew to go from one side of the ICW to the other.  This bridge is called the Sargent Corkscrew Bridge.  Once you make it over the bridge, turn left.  You will now be on 230.  Take this all the way until the road becomes beach and keep going until you can't go no further.  We will park on the inside (away from the ocean side).
